“Community service has always been a significant part of my life. I have been lucky to have great influences who have encouraged me to give back to others. I have become well aware that there are people in this world who do not even have the opportunity to apply for this scholarship; people who may not even have the opportunity to attend college like I do. Because of this, I know the importance of not taking my abilities for granted and giving back to others.” |

“Through my work in the community, I have learned greatly about the power I hold to bring change. My dream has always been to leave a positive impact on the world, and by looking at the success of my nonprofit, I have begun a journey of just that. I have also learned that empathy is a critical leadership skill, which is a trait I possess. That is how people's problems are heard and addressed. I plan on using my desire for change and empathetic leadership to continue being a changemaker for people in need in my post-high school endeavors by growing my nonprofit to include medical service and going to medical school to become a Gynecologist. This way I can continue to create positive change for the people in my community.” |

“I plan to continue to do volunteer work with organizations that have made a positive impact on my life. I've watched my parents give back in various roles, and how their service strengthens our schools and the opportunities we are gifted, and I want to have that same impact on my community, but more importantly my kids.” |
